If you’re like me, the very thought of NaNoWriMo gives you the heeby-jeebies! Writing just to word count in a flat-out race may work for many writers, but not for me. Not at all. So, every November, I feel a bit…left out. Underwhelmed.

Here’s an antidote for that–an essay on deliberate practice, instead of fast words.
