My Fish Just Had Babies!

Last week I bought two swordtails, a male and a female. They get the run of the tank, while Snowball the betta gets an isolation tank and daily “free swim” with the filter off. I came to put Snowball away and thought the rank had been infiltrated by bugs! But no, it’s swordtail fry! I scooped out as many as I could, since the filter will pummel any left to its “mercy.”

Eek! I’m a new fish-mom!

  1. Hooray! Babies! I used to hope and hope that my swordtails would reproduce when I was a kid. No luck with them, unfortunately. Just lots and lots of guppies. Congratulations on your expanded fish family!

Should I send a congratulatory gift?
